VigenFlow runs FLUX and Z-Image locally on AMD Ryzen AI NPU, no GPU needed
Kelsey_test · reddit · 2026-10-14
A developer released VigenFlow, an open-source local image generation/editing server that runs diffusion models on the AMD Ryzen AI NPU (XDNA 2) + CPU — no discrete GPU required, on Windows and Ubuntu.
Supported models
- Text-to-image: FLUX.1-schnell, FLUX.2-klein-4B, Z-Image-Turbo
- Image editing: FLUX.2-klein-4B
Speed (1024×1024)
- FLUX.1-schnell (4 steps): 9 s/image
- FLUX.2-klein-4B (4 steps): 20 s/image
- Z-Image-Turbo (4 steps): 17 s/image
- Krea2-Turbo (8 steps): 50 s/image
Getting started
- Packages on GitHub Releases; works as a local server connectable to Open WebUI
- Linux users: set memlock to unlimited (ulimit -l) or the NPU can't allocate buffers
The server and model launchers are open source; NPU kernels and core inference libs ship precompiled for now, with open-sourcing planned. Project is early-stage, issues welcome.
