ElevenLabs announced that Baroness Campbell of Surbiton delivered a speech in the UK House of Lords using an AI recreation of her own voice — a first for the UK Parliament. Campbell has spinal muscular atrophy that affects her speech; the AI voice replicates the tone, rhythm, and pitch of her original voice. ElevenLabs says its tech has restored voices for over 11,000 people and it aims to help one million people living with voice loss.
