AI search engine Exa announced it passed $100M in annualized revenue, growing roughly 10x per year for three years, now serving 2 billion+ monthly requests across 200k+ teams. Founder William Bryk explains agents search differently from humans — long complex queries, needing all the world's data — and Exa spent 5 years building a search engine for them, serving personal agents, AI labs, coding agents, and GTM agents with access to hundreds of billions of web documents. He predicts agents will search 1000x more than humans by 2030, with information becoming the bottleneck to agent performance.
