Indra OCR ships with a local viewer to test speed and settings in two pip commands
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-10-14
The Indra OCR author shared a quick way to test the model locally: pip install indra-ocr, then run indra-ocr-viewer to launch an app for benchmarking speed and trying different settings. Indra is a small OCR model built for low-latency CPU use cases like RAG ingestion and search indexing; handwriting and complex tables are still better handled by Chandra OCR 2.
