b12 Launches Foundry With University of Zurich to Synthesize AI-Designed Molecules
ycombinator · x · 2026-10-14
b12 launched the b12 Foundry in partnership with the University of Zurich's High-Throughput Experimentation Lab, closing the gap between AI designing molecules in seconds and chemists needing weeks to synthesize them. Users submit target molecules or chemistry workflows; the partner lab plans and runs experiments and returns compounds or data, including reaction screens, air-sensitive, photochemical, and high-pressure chemistry.
The accompanying software stack includes Selenium (route planning), Palladium (experiment design), and Cobalt (robotic workflow generation), also usable in customers' own labs; a Bay Area lab is planned next.
