ColGrep-Agent-2B: a 2B local model claims to cut your Claude usage by 34%
antoine_chaffin · x · 2026-10-14
A new 2B-parameter local model, ColGrep-Agent-2B, claims to cut Claude usage by 34% by handling code search locally and handing the model only the files and lines it needs — fewer search turns, fewer tokens. It's just 2.5GB, code never leaves your machine for search, and it works with Codex and OpenCode too. Accuracy is claimed to be unchanged, though independent verification is still needed.
