The PC downturn is an AI supply story: data center to pass mobile in wafer share by 2026
BenBajarin · x · 2026-10-14
Creative Strategies' Ben Bajarin argues the PC downturn now benefits AI compute: freed leading-edge wafers and memory flow to data center demand. Forecasts show data center taking 48% of leading-edge logic wafer starts by 2030, passing mobile in 2026, with PC falling to 15%. Freed wafers do little for accelerators, but server CPUs benefit. The analysis uses their new 19-model CS Forecast Stack on a shared demand framework.
