Apple's Machine Learning Research team is hiring PhD research interns to expand continuous diffusion and flow matching into discrete & structured domains — language, protein folding/design, and chip floorplanning.
Candidates need demonstrated research experience, the ability to push ideas independently, and multiple accepted first/co-first author papers at top venues (ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS). Recent team work includes SimpleFold, SimpleDesign, and guidance in discrete language models. Positions are on-site in SF/Cupertino, 9+ months starting late 2026 through September 2027. Applicants must apply officially and email a CV with 2–3 paper highlights.
