Director resumes Kafka AI short with Kling 4.0: the film lives between cuts
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-14
Director Kim Sung-soo (Asura, 12.12: The Day) told the Busan Asia Contents & Film Market forum that his Kafka-inspired AI short Warm Train, paused in March because contact shots looked fake, is now 70% done after a Kling 4.0 preview fixed the insect-vs-subway collision scene. He staffed it like a live set — VFX supervisor, four artists, animation art director, editor, music director — reviewing performance, camera, lighting and movement daily. His lesson for students: a film lives between cuts, where scenes collide and tension shows.
