Real2Sim gets easy with coding models, but sim-to-real physics and contact solvers lag

Chris Paxton notes Real-to-Sim is far easier than Real-to-Sim-to-Real, and coding models are surprisingly good at it. jonstephens85 adds that agentic workflows make Real2Sim increasingly easy, but sim-to-real transfer still requires getting a lot right in simulation—especially physics, and solvers for contact-rich manipulation are still being improved.
