Agent Buddy: an open-source ESP32 desk device that watches your coding agents
DanWahlin · x · 2026-10-13
- Agent Buddy is a desktop hardware companion for AI coding agents: it shows at a glance whether background agents (Claude, Copilot, etc.) are working, waiting for approval, or done, combining up to 6 sessions with per-agent badges.
- Developer elbruno demonstrated running it on a Waveshare ESP32-S3 Touch AMOLED 1.8 screen; the project is open source at getagentbuddy.com.
- Extras: token/credit usage display, auto-nap after 2 idle minutes, switchable character packs via USB or Wi-Fi, a browser live demo, and a desktop version for those without the device.
