AI-age propaganda may not need shared beliefs — just different emotions, same outcome
CyborgWriter · reddit · 2026-10-13
An essay argues modern propaganda no longer requires everyone to believe the same thing. Using the data-center debate as an example: jobs, environmental harm, national security and surveillance concerns each map to different emotional camps — fear, pride, anxiety, hope — yet all are steered toward the same outcome: data centers expand. Skeptics self-censor to avoid extremist labels, while others vote for progress or security. Control may now live in the destination, not the message.
