Codex memory tip: switch extract/consolidation models to GPT-6 via two config.toml lines
daniel_mac8 · x · 2026-10-13
Codex's memory feature uses GPT-5.6 Luna and GPT-5.6 Terra by default for extracting and consolidating memories — but you can upgrade for free by editing two lines in config.toml.
Set extractmodel = "gpt-6-luna" and consolidationmodel = "gpt-6.1-sol" under [memories] to run memory extraction and consolidation on the stronger GPT-6 family instead.
