STEP (StepFun) terminal division launched STEPX Neo, billed as the first LLM-native agentic smartphone, with the StepAOS 1.0 agent OS and personal agent Amoo, at a bundled 3,999 yuan price.
The device takes a model-software-hardware co-design approach: a six-mic array with Whisper 1.0 and a low-power audio chip for perception, an AI key and a rear MiniLED display showing agent states; StepAOS provides a dual-domain layered memory system plus task scheduling and permissions; end-cloud orchestration routes light tasks to the on-device StepEdge model and complex reasoning to cloud models.
Amoo integrates nearly 100 partners including Alipay, Tencent, Ctrip, Didi, CapCut, Amap and Meituan, with H2A2A support for third-party agents, and a trust framework of verifiable, visible, controllable and reversible actions. Developers get StepStudio to build Skills/Agents conversationally and distribute via AmooStore. Buyers get 10B tokens monthly for 12 months; the first 10,000 qualifying users earn a ticket to trade the phone for any new STEPX device free within five years.
