After TV Time shutdown erased 15 years of history, he rebuilt 10,000+ media notes in Obsidian

When TV Time shut down in July 2026 and took 15 years of viewing history with it, the author moved all media tracking into his Obsidian vault.
- Scale: 10,260 media notes covering movies, shows, anime, manga, video games and board games, with covers, statuses, ratings, ownership, prices and play dates — all plain Markdown files, Git-versioned and backed up multiple times daily.
- Connected: media notes integrate with his broader knowledge base; browsable, queryable and publishable.
- AI-readable: with no APIs and no rate limits, saying "I just watched Dune Part Two, 8/10" updates the note, adds a line to his daily note and sets his IMDb rating.
- The 43-minute write-up includes real code, and the system will soon ship as part of his Obsidian Starter Kit.
