NVIDIA driver 617.42 breaks ComfyUI workflows; rolling back to 616.92 fixes it

A Reddit user reports that NVIDIA's 617.42 desktop driver breaks ComfyUI workflows: upscale-heavy jobs run once or twice, then hang with the GPU idle, and overall runs slow down. The issue reproduced on all three of the author's 5060 Ti 16GB cards. After hours of debugging model quantization and other suspects, they rolled back to 616.92 and everything worked again. Worth checking your driver version if you see similar hang-and-stall behavior.
