Researcher: peer review is dead and science is collapsing back to trust networks
jmschreiber91 · x · 2026-10-13
Computational biologist jmschreiber91 argues that science is collapsing back to trust networks because peer review no longer means much: he won't use a predictor from an unknown group even with a Nature paper behind it. He predicts that "build a better predictor" or "a faster version of an algorithm" won't count as a legitimate 2027 project without real methodological innovation, and that computational biology as a field is about to radically shift.
