Google appears to be expanding access to custom MCP support in the Gemini desktop app to more users, letting people connect external tools to the desktop client.
Citing this, the poster speculates Gemini 4 may ship alongside further updates: Computer Use has been in testing for a while and should be ready, and "Superprojects" is also expected. The big question is whether Gemini 4 will reach Pro subscribers too.
