Local 125B MoE on RTX 5090 finishes Three.js horse challenge in 23 minutes
Beneficial-Ad-8127 · reddit · 2026-10-13
A Reddit user ran the 'horsey challenge' on a self-converted NVFP4 Qwen3.8-Flash-Next 125B-A6B (abliterated, 4.5-bit experts + Q8 dense) via the strata-nvfp4 fork on an RTX 5090 32GB with 192GB RAM. Pure agent time: 23m10s across 87 steps, 124k output tokens, 99% cache hit rate, 116 t/s median decode, zero compactions.
Lessons learned: the first run failed because the model left 15+ headless Chrome processes lagging the system; the fixed prompt explicitly tells the agent to kill unneeded processes. Full stack, quantization config and prompt shared.
