SimplyAnnisa · x · 2026-10-13
OpenBMB released MiniCPM-V 4.7, an open-source multimodal model series targeting on-device use:
- MiniCPM-V 4.7 35B-A3B: uses a new LES (Lookahead Expert Scheduling) technique to preload experts, bringing claimed SOTA multimodal performance to iOS/Android local deployment.
- MiniCPM-V 4.7 1B: lightweight variant for easier deployment.
The team reports competitive results across 34 benchmarks spanning multimodal understanding, STEM reasoning, OCR and long-video comprehension. The sharer's take: getting a 35B MoE model onto a tablet is more exciting than another 100B model's benchmark bump.
