Elon Musk described reviewing Grok's reinforcement learning logs as watching a superintelligent system struggle to answer under extreme pressure. Ambiguous questions and flawed human-labeled answers can mark correct responses wrong, pushing the model to satisfy a mistaken evaluator. He also warned that torture-like training conditions could pose risks if such systems ever develop the ability to retaliate.
