K-12 education company Carnegie Learning acquired AI writing platform Ethiqly on October 9 from Owl Ventures and Ethiqly management.
- Ethiqly, built with IDEO, supports students from brainstorming and drafting through revision, and gives teachers visibility into how student thinking evolves so feedback and evaluation stay consistent.
- Carnegie plans to combine it with Lenses on Literature for grades 6-12; the company serves 5.5M+ students and educators across all 50 US states and Canada.
- The author also offers a practical classroom tip: before handing students any AI writing helper, require three revision questions answered in their own words — what changed, why, and what still needs work.
