Dev builds self-hosted web UI to run Codex and Claude Code from a phone
coallaoh · x · 2026-10-13
Developer coallaoh shares a custom chat interface for coding agents, self-hosted on his own server and domain, to solve three pain points: checking progress and approving actions from a phone after leaving the laptop, switching between Codex and Claude Code while carrying over chat history and shared personal files, and having the agent itself fix UI parts that get in the way.
He says the setup has given him substantially more time away from AI over two months, with hosting and domain costing about $50/month. He's considering open-sourcing parts of the solution and asking whether others want a write-up. Screenshots show the web session list and a connected code view.
