Passive Radar With One Antenna and a USRP: Tracking Jets From Reflections 100M× Weaker
natesiggard · x · 2026-10-13
Using DSP tricks, a hobbyist extracted aircraft reflections 10–100 million times weaker than a broadcast transmitter's direct signal. The setup is one vertical antenna into a USRP B210, fully passive, with AI-assisted coding. Results: business jets at FL430 and rotary-wing signatures, every return tagged with flight number and plotted near Atlanta — and he says it's just the starting point.
