France scales agentic computing: satellites run Mistral models on NVIDIA Jetson
nordicinst · x · 2026-10-13
NVIDIA's blog surveys how France's ecosystem has moved from ambition to application in agentic computing:
- Sovereign compute: Bull is extending European AI server production to NVIDIA Vera Rubin Ultra NVL72 systems (planned 2028), with rack integration at its newly inaugurated Angers factory.
- Autonomy in orbit: Altair-1, first satellite of a $1 billion, 50-satellite constellation, reached orbit this month. Integrated by Loft Orbital, it flies NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin edge modules running Mistral models for real-time Earth observation and autonomous operations.
- Open models: NVIDIA Nemotron models are in production at French organizations requiring sovereign data, with LINAGORA and Docaposte securing the CANUT framework agreement built on Twake.ai.
The groundwork spans the 2025 AI Action Summit and Choose France summits.
