Alibaba's Qwen Go agent haggles with customer service to win flight delay cash refunds
量子位 · wechat · 2026-10-13
Alibaba's Qwen has launched Qwen Go, a Personal Agent designed to complete real-world tasks on your behalf, joining Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots in the same race.
Demo cases from early users include: recovering a flight delay compensation for a user who couldn't even remember which flight was delayed — the agent logged into the booking platform, dug through order history, called support, escalated to in-app human agents, and eventually negotiated a 70-yuan voucher into cash; plus price-protection refunds (52 yuan returned), car maintenance booking, badminton court reservations, and cross-platform price comparison for appliance purchases. It runs on Qwen3.8's agentic capabilities and leverages Alibaba's own ecosystem (Taobao, Fliggy, Amap).
The piece also surveys the broader Personal Agent landrush: Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots, and startup Instinct's $1B Sequoia-led round at a $10B valuation.
