Per Variety, Prime Video has taken global rights to Çukur: Vartolu, an AI-generated film spin-off of Ay Yapim's hit Turkish series Çukur (The Pit).
Key points:
- Produced by Ay Yapim's Singapore AI studio AI Yapim, which launched the AI historical drama Castle Walls on Prime Video in August
- Every frame was AI-generated, from faces to settings; human actors still performed scenes so generation could follow movement, timing, and expression, with dialogue recorded by human voice actors
- Directed by Umut Aral, tracing how Salih becomes Vartolu
A major streamer globally distributing fully AI-generated scripted content marks AI filmmaking moving from experiment to commercial mainstream.
