Selling AI? Admit it's not 100% accurate — deals close faster with honest fallback terms
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-13
A practitioner's lesson from enterprise AI sales: when clients ask for a 100% accuracy guarantee, the right answer is no — AI is probabilistic, and even 95% is high. What clients really care about is "what happens when it errs," not "it never errs."
The team now attaches three lines to every contract: the accuracy ceiling, the fallback process for errors, and manual review checkpoints. Clarifying these boundaries actually made clients sign faster. Bottom line: never over-promise when selling AI.
