Specula has now surfaced 700+ concurrency bugs in distributed systems, deployed in Apache Ozone

Prof. Tianyin Xu's team updated the tally for Specula, their speculative-execution-based concurrency bug detection system: over 700 bugs found, up from 500+. Ivan Andika from Apache Ozone and Ratis demonstrated applying Specula to Ozone and Ratis, with a well-organized JIRA issue (a good read, building on Marc Brooker et al.'s CACM article). Bugs found span OS kernels like Asterinas and SONiC as well as distributed systems.
