Anthropic says it cut distiller data harvesting by 90-99%, turning away trillions of tokens

According to the quoted post, Anthropic has reduced the amount of data harvested by distillers by around 90 to 99 percent, and has turned away meaningful revenue and trillions of tokens' worth of paying traffic from distillers.
The poster argues this is why open-source quality is a lagging indicator: producing a model 6 months behind worked half a year ago, but replicating that feat today amid faster frontier progress and tighter anti-distillation measures is far harder.
