Zuckerberg: an H100 is worth more than last year as AI compute stays scarce
inductionheads · x · 2026-10-13
Mark Zuckerberg says 'the value of even an H100 at this point is higher than it was last year' as AI compute remains scarce, challenging the idea that older Nvidia GPUs quickly lose value.
The thread argues this is why Meta benefits from owning its data centers: it can keep running GPUs long after they're fully depreciated instead of paying cloud providers year after year. The same logic extends to NBIS, CRWV and IREN — if GPUs stay productive longer than expected, the same hardware generates more revenue without early replacement.
