Epic delays Disney shooter, tells staff: no more hand-written code, all art via AI

Per Bloomberg, Epic Games has delayed its unannounced Star Wars + Marvel shooter and instructed developers to adopt an "AI first" production model. One of the game's directors told staff "no more hand-written code," with all art to be "generated with full AI workflows" using tools like Anthropic's Claude, while humans manage and guide the output. A rare hard mandate for AI-native production inside AAA game development.
