Sim-to-real skepticism: pixel-space native training beats generated simulators, argues DeWitte

Pim DeWitte argues too much emphasis is placed on coding models generalizing to robotics by "generating simulators." Training natively in pixel space using the world's own compute is a massive advantage: simulation is slow, expensive, and lossy — "imagine having to simulate the entire internet just to train an LLM." Chris Paxton amplified the take.
