Vixel launches: chat with an AI Director to turn drawings and songs into short films
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-13
Vixel, an AI filmmaking workspace, launched today with a clear philosophy: talk through the plan before you generate. Users chat with a built-in AI Director to develop the story, plan shots, and explore character looks instead of prompting a model blindly.
The product targets creators like illustrators and musicians—you can start from a character sketch, a song, or a folder of references, and the AI Director helps place the character in a world, break the story into shots, and iterate on direction before generation (e.g., questioning why a shot belongs or suggesting alternatives). The launch video follows three creators, positioning the Director as a creative partner you can reason with.
