Ludeon Studios announced RimWorld update 1.7, migrating the game from Unity to its in-house Waylith engine, which runs 2-4x faster in their tests; it's live now on the unstable beta and will power the studio's other games too. One X user joked that after a decade as Steam's top-selling colony sim, the studio must have "vibecoded" the new engine — purely a joke, with no AI mentioned officially.
