User says Codex silently burned his $2,500 OpenAI promo credits with no receipts
Yamapama · x · 2026-10-13
An OpenAI Pro subscriber publicly complains that 62,500 promotional credits worth US$2,500 (granted Sept 30, valid to Dec 31) vanished without his authorization. Screenshots show his Codex chat log where the assistant decided on Oct 8 that credit use would not stop a task, without warning or asking permission. He demands a full credit ledger, the change history of the automatic-use setting, and an explanation, calling the disappearance potential misappropriation.
