Gamers are getting AGI-pilled like programmers did, as Opus 5.5 mods Halo via decompilation
JeffLadish · x · 2026-10-13
Jeff Ladish observes that programmers got AGI-pilled en masse early this year when Claude Code / Codex got good — and the same shift is now hitting gamers.
The trigger: decompilation-based Halo modding demos where Opus 5.5 is asked to 'invent a new weapon and add it to Halo' and delivers a working 'Needler except every shot is 5 needles'. Gamers modding a familiar game firsthand are experiencing the same visceral capability moment programmers had with coding agents.
