Sierra Ventures announced it backed Thrixel from inception, founded by University of Chicago professor Rana Hanocka (MeshCNN, Text2Mesh). Thrixel generates 3D assets as named, separate parts that AI agents can identify, assemble, and animate; a demo full game was built with just Claude + Thrixel. The founding team comes from her longtime research collaborators.
