Modal adds Endpoint Candidates to evaluate and promote inference endpoints
Modal Blog · rss · 2026-10-12
Modal introduced "Endpoint Candidates," a workflow for systematically evaluating inference endpoints before they go live.
- Candidate endpoints can run alongside production to compare quality, latency, throughput, and cost under real traffic
- Once validated, a candidate can be "promoted" to a production endpoint, reducing the risk of switching
- Useful for A/B testing, gradual rollouts, and swapping model versions safely
