Tech people will never have taste? The AI 'soulfulness' discourse kicks off
basedjensen · x · 2026-10-13
Another round of AI-circle 'taste' discourse:
- @mcdermott: tech people will never have taste because they didn't spend their formative years discovering bands, flipping old magazines, watching obscure films and reading beyond the syllabus — taste is cultivated over a lifetime;
- @bitcloud's riposte: in lieu of intellectual dominance, the intelligentsia will now signal how much more 'ensouled' they are than common folk.
A classic humanist-vs-technologist identity clash in the age of capable AI.
