Governed AI code review loop: two hooks gate Claude Code merges on an independent reviewer's sign-off
SeanOliver · x · 2026-10-13
Inspired by bcherny, the author turned AI code reviews into a governed loop that only exits when an independent reviewer agent signs off. A receipt stamped with the PR's latest commit ID is required; two hooks block merges/review requests without a valid receipt, and reject any "ready to merge" claim lacking one. The fix→re-review→receipt→enforce loop has no round cap, invalidates on new pushes, and a safeguard halts thrashing loops (e.g., fixes repeatedly introducing P2+ issues) for human takeover with full context.
