Asimov open-sources Menlo SDK for its humanoid robot, enabling VR teleop and custom policies
MarwaEldiwiny · x · 2026-10-13
Asimov open-sourced the Menlo SDK for building applications on its Asimov 1 humanoid robot, letting developers control movements and read robot state. The company also released Asimov Edge, the on-robot software that validates incoming commands and manages control between your app, a gamepad and other controllers.
Use cases include motion replay, teleoperating the robot via a VR headset, and running your own trained policies on real hardware. The Python SDK (pip install menlo-sdk, Python 3.12+) ships under Apache-2.0 with docs and examples, and the robot itself is available to order.
