At the OCP Global Summit, NVIDIA and AMD both unveiled CPU-only rack products targeting AI agent workloads:
- NVIDIA Vera CPU rack: aimed at tool calling, orchestration, and sandboxed execution; NVIDIA also opened its Vera Rubin architecture, with Cisco, Google, Meta, Microsoft and Visionbay joining the ecosystem to scale AI factories.
- AMD Helion: up to 32,768 EPYC cores in CPU-only configs for hyperscale agentic deployments (plus CPU/GPU configs for enterprises), featuring an integrated token router that directs agents' model calls across frontier and open-source models.
The launches signal that agent workloads are spawning a dedicated CPU compute tier alongside GPU training and inference stacks.
