LightOn's open-source ColGrep-Agent-2B offloads Claude Code, cutting API tokens 34%
IgorCarron · x · 2026-10-12
LightOn open-sourced ColGrep-Agent-2B, a small model meant to absorb search/retrieval workload from coding agents like Claude Code — reporting 34% fewer API tokens and 40% lower API costs in practice. Context: EMostaque complained his heavy plan hit usage limits days before week's end even after offloading to Cursor, Devin, Claude and Codex, and argued quota dashboards should be standard. The model is live on Hugging Face.
