Perplexity CEO: $750M annualized revenue, AI-native SMBs fueling new millionaire boom
AravSrinivas · x · 2026-10-12
Perplexity founder and CEO Aravind Srinivas joined Molly O'Shea's podcast to discuss the company's numbers and his thesis on AI-native businesses. Perplexity is valued at $20B with $2B raised, $750M in annualized revenue as of August, growing 5x YoY as it expands from search into autonomous agents.
One example he shared: a single-person company generating $3M in annual revenue while spending over $1M a year on Perplexity Computer. His thesis: AI fundamentally changes the economics of building a business — smaller teams, less capital, higher productivity, and entirely new business models, with AI-native SMBs potentially driving the next American millionaire boom.
