InfernoSIM v4.2: Fault Injection for Parallel Tool Calls With Auto Dependency Discovery
pranaysparihar · reddit · 2026-10-12
InfernoSIM v4.2 is a local reliability-testing tool for tool-using agents: record sanitized model/tool traffic, replay with injected failures, and verify side effects and application state. New in v4.2: automatic dependency discovery from recorded interactions, MCP lifecycle events, and OpenTelemetry spans; seeded topological scheduling preserving dependencies; independent admission/release control for concurrent HTTP and MCP stdio traffic; per-call argument corruption in parallel OpenAI/Anthropic/Ollama streams; and failing cases reduced into portable regression tests with dependency graphs and execution evidence.
It covers stale responses arriving late, retries after lost responses, cancellation mid-flight, with JSON/JUnit/SARIF/HTML reports for CI. Validated with a two-hour regression run of 25,070 executions (results public). Install via Homebrew; MIT-licensed, runs locally.
