ManimGX: Open-Source 3D Animation Engine for Agents, 90x Faster Than Manim
_AustinCalvert_ · x · 2026-10-12
Developer sinaatalay released ManimGX, an open-source 3D animation engine built for coding agents: a Rust + wgpu core delivering 90x faster rendering than ManimCE, compatibility with Manim's Python API, and a single pip install with no system dependencies. The pitch: we spent 40 years building GUIs for humans, now we build APIs for agents — paste the docs link into your coding agent and it generates a solar system animation. Others see this as evidence that code-as-video will devour diffusion-based video models over the next year.
