ChatGPT cites PubMed research to settle whether sex counts as extra calories
yongqianme · x · 2026-10-12
The author asked ChatGPT to factor 3-4 sessions of sex per week into a training plan. The model cited PubMed/PLOS studies: sex 30 min–24h before exercise shows no measurable drop in aerobic capacity, strength or power; moderate-intensity sex is 3 METs, and one study measured 101 kcal/session but only in 23-year-olds. Its verdict: sleep loss, not sex itself, is the recovery concern—so don't count it as "an extra 100 kcal today."
