Full report: Forbes is the most-cited source in AI buying answers; dataset freely available
drrickio · x · 2026-10-12
Full report and free dataset for the 1,200-answer study of AI engine citations.
- Forbes.com was the most-cited site (107 answers), followed by techradar.com (97).
- Zero-citation engines were sanity-checked with explicit 'what do Reddit users say' questions: ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok all returned Reddit links, validating the method; Claude and Meta Muse Spark discussed Reddit but never returned links, so 0% means no link in returned sources, not zero influence.
- The data is consistent with, but doesn't prove, that Reddit's licensing deals and lawsuits explain citation differences.
