Hugging Face open-sources 369 math RL environments with Lean auto-verification
aigclink · x · 2026-10-12
Hugging Face has turned OpenAI's recently released math results into an open-source reinforcement learning environment you can plug into your training pipeline.
- Scale: 369 tasks, 405 formal math problems, 214 problem types, each with a Lean statement containing sorry
- How it works: the model must fill in a complete proof; a Lean verifier in an isolated sandbox compiles and checks it, giving a 0/1 reward for RL training
- Strategy: train on problems the model can solve first, queue the rest
Still an early version — the verifier only accepts the original formalization and may reject equivalent proofs. Best treated as a training playground.
